My Story
Hello there! My name is Donna Reynolds, and I have been selected as an official participant for the 2041 ClimateForce Antarctic Expedition in 2022.
I am looking for support to get me over 6,965km away from home to complete this expedition.
Follow me on this journey from start to finish, with live updates during the expedition, where I can share what I have learned and provide convenient, easy climate change solutions.
My Mission
WHAT?
From the 17 - 29 March 2022,
I will be 1 of the 80 participants of a diverse group of people from across the world who will be participating in the “Leadership on the Edge” program led by famous polar explorer Robert Swan O.B.E., and learning exercises taught by renowned experts on the issues of climate change, sustainability, and energy use.
WHY?
While I do my best to live a sustainable and environmentally friendly life, I want to do more, to do better.
It is my dream to adopt a zero-waste lifestyle that is sustainable and leaves little impact on the planet that we live on, inspiring others to do the same and creating a significant shift in mindset about climate change and the need to create a greener future.
Our generation and our children will pay the greatest costs for climate change. It is essential that we create a strong group of youth and equip them with the necessary leadership skills to tackle the most substantial threat to our future – and this expedition will provide the vital knowledge and skills to do just that.
HOW?
I want to use my skills in both psychology and technology and the newly acquired skills and knowledge gained on the expedition and team on board to provide not just greater awareness, but convenient, easy solutions for how we can tackle climate change right here and right now, educating and empowering my community and making a positive environmental difference back home in South Africa.
