20. Lockdown living

Cold weather, rainy days, new restrictions and the third wave - Cyril's most recent 'family meeting' has me reflecting on the past 450+ days of lockdown and the changes we have made since starting our "lockdown living".
Being stuck at home has given people the time and motivation to finally start those DIY-home-improvement-projects that they've been putting off since 1995 - everything from van builds, creating 'living walls', DIY-ing home deco and upcycling thrifted furniture.
One of my family's passion projects has been our very own little veggie garden - thriving since March 2020! We've planted everything from artichokes to zucchinis (the A-Z of veggies if you will) and it's been such fun to watch them all grow.
Not only is it so rewarding to see our hard work paying off, but home-grown veggies taste way better than any store-bought thing wrapped in plastic and pumped with preservatives - plus we've reduced our food waste (no more sad soggy lettuce sitting in the back of the fridge!)
If you've run out of alcohol and are looking for something else to do to keep you warm this winter, I seriously recommend giving veggie gardening a try! It's one small sustainable action that not only helps the planet by reducing food waste and the use of plastic (no packaging here!), but is fun to learn and is so rewarding!
What passion projects have you started in your "lockdown living"?
