I am fascinated by the psychological barriers that limit climate change action; while many people are taking action in response to the risks of climate change, many others are unaware of the problem, are unsure of what to do or believe that their actions are inconsequential or unimportant. Others are unsure of the facts and don’t trust experts or their conclusions, or are fixed in their ways, believing that others should act, or that the problem is elsewhere and does not affect them.

By taking a psychological approach to climate change and seeking to understand the limitations to climate change action, I can help to reduce these limitations, design more effective interventions and shape cultural and policy recommendations.

Which psychological barrier do you think is limiting your climate change action?
